"I would like to thank Jerry (tour organiser) and my safari driver, James for making my Kenyan safari a fantastic one and full of African experience. James is an expect! He knows the animals and how to find them and where. He knows their tracks on the ground as well as the birds. He is a courteous driver guide and very helpful. Always on time and has a sharp eye for game and birds and other residents in the parks. Thanks again to the whole os Shades of Africa team for making my trip so wonderful!! "

A largely undiscovered gem, Tanzania is the setting of two of the most photographed sights on the African continent: the grandeur of mighty Mount Kilimanjaro and the thundering Animal Migration.
It is Africa’s tallest mountain at more than 19,000 feet. ‘Kili’ is one of the world’s more forgiving mountains, requiring no previous mountaineering experience (just bring healthy lungs and robust body; porters will carry your bags to the summit). The Serengeti region, with its 13,000 square kilometers of diverse terrain and thousands of animal species and the scene of the annual Great Animal Migration is the best-known attraction of Kenya’s neighbor to the south.
Tanzania can be your springboard to the flavor of Zanzibar, ‘the Spice Island,’ off the southeastern coast.

Olduvai Gorge
The archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge is located in the eastern Serengeti in northern Tanzania within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The gorge is a steep sided 4 to 8- kilometre (30 mile) long ravine, which forms part of the Great Rift Valley. It is situated on a series of fault lines which, along with centuries of erosion, has revealed fossils and remnants of early humankind.

Ngorongoro - Tanzania Game Park
Nearly all major species of Tanzania’s big game animals are here for your viewing pleasure. This strange, steep-sided valley is actually an ancient dry volcano crater, 100 square miles of unique ecosystem. The Ngorongoro Crater was formed when the cone collapsed millions of years ago.

The Serengeti - Tanzania Game Park
Travel the path of the legendary hunters and naturalists across the fabled grassy plains of the Serengeti. Believed to contain the most dense wildlife population on Earth, the Serengeti is by far Tanzania’s most popular park, and is the starting point for the summer’s Great Animal Migration for millions of wildebeest and zebra heading north for the Maasai Mara.
The Serengeti is a 60,000 square kilometer savanna which lies over Tanzania and Kenya.[1] The biannual migration that occurs there is considered one of the seven tourist travel wonders of the world. The region contains several national parks and game reserves. Its name is derived from the Maasai language and means "Endless Plains".
The Serengeti has more than 2 million herbivores and thousands of predators. Blue Wildebeests, gazelles, zebras and buffalos are the animals most commonly found in the region.
The Serengeti hosts the largest and longest overland migration in the world,[2] a biannual occurrence. Around October, nearly 2 million herbivores travel from the northern hills toward the southern plains, crossing the Mara River, in pursuit of the rains. In April, they then return to the north through the west, once again crossing the Mara river. This phenomenon is sometimes called the Circular Migration. Over 250,000 wildebeest alone will die along the journey from Tanzania to Maasai Mara reserves in upper Kenya, a total of 500 miles.

Lake Manyara - Tanzania Game Park
This is a picturesque and diverse park in the Great Rift Valley. The many animal species, from hippos to flamingos, make the lake a perfect destination for a day trip. Natural adaptation has led to the survival of a unique big cat: the amazing tree-climbing lion, ruler of this picturesque and diverse park surrounding Lake Manyara, the largest in the valley.

Tarangire - Tanzania Game Park

Much further than the eye can see—1000 square miles—Tarangire and the river that bears its name teem with the wildlife that congregate at the water’s edge. The park is also renowned for the magical baobab tree and Tanzania’s largest elephant population.
