Skeleton Coast:  Post-Tour Extension
Historic shipwrecks and the earth’s biggest sand dunes, give the Skeleton Coast a reputation for wildness and beauty, the place where the eerie dunes meet the ocean.  
EXTENTION:  DAY 1  
Windhoek to Skeleton Coast
Depart Windhoek by air across the Namib Desert. Visitors to The Skeleton Coast will marvel at the enormous dunes and historic shipwrecks. Your Shades of Africa guide will escort you to your hotel for an evening of relaxation.

EXTENTION:  DAY 2 - 4  
Skeleton Coast
Although quiet and uninhabited, this area has a multitude of activities. Take a guided tour through the area by vehicle or walking tour across the rugged terrain. View the spectacular rare foliage and the massive clay structures which have developed over millions of years. You may catch a glimpse of springbok, jackal, or brown hyena and the freshwater springs that sustain them. See a seal colony tucked away in the rock outcrops of the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Himba, an ancient people who maintain traditional housing, adornments and hairstyles. The Himba are the only people you will see other than those on your tour group.

Flight to Windhoek, and transfer to Johannesburg for all international flights.
