DAY 4
Victoria Falls
Like explorer David Livingstone, we presume you will marvel at Victoria Falls, which he named for the British monarch. The local Makololo tribe called the Falls Mosi-oa-Tunya, meaning “The Smoke that Thunders.” Vic Falls is the site of a huge cataract where the mighty Zambezi River plunges 5,500 feet down to the gorge below. The rising, cascading mist creates an almost permanent daily rainbow. Victoria Falls is twice as wide and twice as deep as Niagara Falls. Today, visit a nearby village and school. This is a great opportunity for your kids to meet children from the area. Then visit a nature sanctuary and crocodile farm. Optional elephant rides are available.
